 How it works

Diamond Dermabrasion allows for a controlled “polishing” whereby dead and damaged layers of the epidermis (skin) are exfoliated.  The use of an oxygen infusion accelerates the growth of fresh new cells while enhancing collagen and elastic production.  This procedure minimizes the appearance of age spots, fine lines, stubborn stretch marks, small scars and uneven pigmentation. Diamond Dermabrasion stimulates micro-circulation and improves skin quality and texture leaving you with a healthy, youthful and glowing complexion.

Each treatment includes

1 Radio Frequency treatment
1 Diamond Dermabrasion
1 Oxygen Therapy Massage
1 Serum infusion massage
1 Hydration mask

For the most noticeable results treatments consist of 6 sessions one to two weeks apart, with each session lasting 1.5 hours.

Results

Patients will experience immediate improvement of skin texture and tone with optimal results being achieved over a period of 6 months. A typical course of treatment ranges from 6 to 12 sessions spaced a week or two apart. It is strongly recommended that you follow a regular skincare regime throughout your treatments (cleanse, tone, moisturize, SPF). It’s important to have sun protection-even in the winter as we are revealing fresh skin through deep exfoliation.

The Technology

Microdermabrasion treatments are in general a procedure for skin rejuvenation by gently abrading the skin using a crystalized material. After removing dead and damaged layers, the skin is ultimatly stimulated to create a fresh elastic skin structure.  We chose Diamond Dermabrasion because it is much safer than other types of crystal microdermabrasion and it does not leave behind crystal dust micro-particles embedded into the skin.

Diamond-Dermabrasion is also more precise with the availability of three different adjustments to define the depths of the exfoliation. It performs a uniform exfoliation and our unique non-aggressive techniques protect the structure of the skin while achieving the same results of other types of microdermabrasion.

Microdermabrasion treatments are given for a wide range of skin conditions from:
  • sun damaged skin
  • stretch marks
  • scars
  • textured skin
  • acne
  • age spots
  • uneven skin tone
  • aging skin

Proteins are essential organic compounds; when talking about skin rejuvenation, the following types of proteins are of utmost importance: Elastin and Collagen. The overall process of microdermabrasion (crystal, crystal-free, or diamond) invigorates the collagen and elastin production. The end result is a fresh new layer of youthful skin.

Oxygen

The air we breathe at low altitude is composed of 21% of oxygen, 78% of nitrogen and 1% or rare gases.

Blood delivers the oxygen to the cells of our body for metabolism to occur, and blood takes back the CO2 we exhale.

Each cell of the human body has basic requirements to sustain it, and the body’s organ systems are largely built around providing the many trillions of cells with those basic needs such as oxygen, food, and waste removal.

The supply of blood to the skin generally takes the form of microscopically small loops of blood vessels coming up from the deeper layer, each to supply a small local area of skin. The size of the blood vessels in these loops is controlled by signals sent through the nerves that accompany them. Thus in temperature control it is possible for them to widen, increasing the flow and so losing excess heat. If someone is cold or is exposed to a cold environment then contraction of the skin blood vessels cuts the amount of skin blood flow and conserves body heat. All of this control activity occurs automatically by complex feedback systems involving temperature-sensing tissues within the skin and the nervous system and brain. Pollution, excess exposure to sun rays, winds, and dry environment all play a role in the way blood is delivered to the skin tissues.

Peripheral blood circulation, in this case facial skin blood circulation, is served by a very poor capillary network that starts losing permeability and flexibility after the age of twenty, thus reducing oxygen delivery to the skin tissues of the face and neck areas.

Oxygen = Energy

Cellular respiration is the energy releasing process by which sugar molecules are broken down by a series of reactions and the chemical energy gets converted to energy stored in ATP molecules. The reactions that convert the fuel (glucose) to usable energy (ATP) are glycolysis, the Krebs cycle (sometimes called the citric acid cycle), and the electron transport chain. Altogether these reactions are referred to as “cellular respiration” or “aerobic respiration.” Oxygen is needed as the final electron acceptor, and carrying out cellular respiration is the very reason we breathe and the reason we eat.

Lack of oxygen to the skin tissues of the face means a reduced level of energy at the cellular level causing a slow down of the local metabolism and a slow down of the cellular regeneration process. The skin tissues lose moisture and are less receptive to nutrients. Premature aging process starts with a slowing of collagen production, a reduction of elastin levels and loss of a healthy glow.

Oxygen delivery

Oxygen facial therapy objectives are to boost the energy level of the skin tissues of the face with an oxygen infusion massage which delivers  temporary, optimum oxygen saturation to the cells of the dermis.

In 1997 the biomechanics institute, Frannhofer, in Germany published the ideal pressure for trans-dermal (through the epidermis) delivery of liquids and gases for absorption by the human body. It is under this guidance that Dr. Ledesma and his engineers developed our integrated oxygen therapy system with its unique technology for delivering a constant pressurized flow of oxygen. This proprietary technology allows for a much better and faster delivery of oxygen to the face, neck and decollate skin tissues.
